My story at Under Grace Pet Portraits
Welcome to Under Grace Pet Portraits, where every stroke of the pencil tells a story of love, memory, and connection. Discover the passion behind my custom, highly realistic pet portraits, painted with soft pastel right here in Lake Country, British Columbia.
It is my belief that all creatures, great and small, were created special and beautifully different. I believe that it is by God's grace we are given the privilege to love and care for them. And, yes, I believe all dogs go to heaven!☺️
It is my desire that my art would bring joy and lasting memories, capturing the essence of every pet from the furry to the feathered and everything in between.
How it all began...
My journey into painting pet portraits began in 2023 after I lost my beloved Corgi/Australian Shepherd, Trinity. I affectionately called her my "Potatoe." My very first portrait was of her, and after receiving many compliments, I decided that maybe I could help others create memories of their own sweet fur babies.
Capturing their souls through their eyes...
The most important part of any pet portrait to me is their eyes. That is where I see each precious personality, all unique and wonderful in their own ways and when I begin a portrait, the eyes are were it all starts. I believe if you want to see heaven, you need only to look into the eyes of innocence.
My family, my inspiration
After I lost my Trinity, we got a Lab/Australian Shepherd we named Bella, and by God's grace, she helped me to heal from my loss. Soon after Bella, we welcomed another fur baby to our family. Harley, a Rottweiler cross, quickly became best friends with Bella and stole our hearts. Our girls are the centre of our lives and a constant reminder of the joy and healing that pets often bring.
